Debt collection agency American Profit Recovery recently announced that owner and partner Jeff DiMatteo has been elected to the ACA International Education Foundation Board. The IEFB is the philanthropic arm of the ACA, a trade association of third-party debt collection businesses. The IEFB's mission, according to its website, is to help increase consumer financial literacy and build awareness through monthly activities and educational programs. These include the annual Loomer Mortensen Scholarship, which assists those in the collection industry who have college-bound children, and Ask Doctor Debt, which provides "free and unbiased questions to consumer debt questions," according to its website. DiMatteo will work with board members to oversee these activities and concoct new ways to promote them. He has supported ADD in the past with internal fundraising programs that have raised thousands of dollars. "Jeff and his employees are outstanding examples of community philanthropy and we are excited that he is joining the ACA Foundation Board of Directors," said Chris Wunder, IEFB chair. APR has offices in Massachusetts, Michigan and North Carolina.
