MicroBilt Launches "Smart Metro 2" Service Providing Comprehensive Reporting of Trade-Line Information to Consumer and Commercia

Kennesaw, GA, May 05, 2008

MicroBilt Corporation, leading provider of risk management solutions to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), is helping lenders and other business customers report trade-line information to all major consumer and commercial credit bureaus and other data repositories using the industry-standard reporting format, Metro 2. With MicroBilt's new Smart Metro 2 service, account information is securely transferred electronically to MicroBilt for reporting to authorized data repositories in compliance with Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) regulations. "Manually reporting trade-line data to various repositories individually can be so time-consuming that many businesses either report to only one bureau or they are unable to do so in a timely manner. It can also be risky if various individuals have to physically handle sensitive account data in order to complete the process," says Walt Wojciechowski, CEO of MicroBilt. "We're automating and securing the process by allowing customers to report data once, to us, in a variety of formats, which MicroBilt will convert to Metro 2 and submit quickly to multiple repositories that may all have slightly different reporting requirements. Simplifying reporting to a single step also dramatically reduces the security risks associated with a manual process." Under the Smart Metro 2 service, MicroBilt will report consumer data to Equifax, Experian, TransUnion, Innovis, Teletrack and PRBC, as well as commercial data to D&B, Experian Business and Equifax Business on behalf of its customers on a monthly basis. This prevents businesses from having to purchase and maintain their own reporting software and establish their own procedures for secure reporting to multiple data repositories. Smart Metro 2: A "Best Practice" in Collections, Building Good Credit Histories While reducing the time, effort and risk involved in comprehensive reporting, MicroBilt's Smart Metro 2 service also establishes a "best practice" for timely collections as well as helping consumers build good credit histories. Fast, accurate reporting of trade-line data, facilitates collections as delinquencies are registered in a timely manner and customers are alerted in real time about late fees and collection practices. At the same time, efficient reporting to the data repositories benefits customers who keep up with their payments by helping them build or maintain good credit scores. MicroBilt intends to expand the Smart Metro 2 offering to offer analytics to its customers, which will allow them to compare the performance of the loans they underwrite against industry metrics to see if and how they can improve credit policies.
