Pawn shops able to broadcast services through reality TV
Reality TV has become increasingly popular over the past few years, as viewers are able to catch a glimpse of what life is like for other people. Some pawn shops are a part of this trend now, as these short term lending businesses have their own programs, including Pawn Stars and Hardcore Pawn. Owners are happy to be featured on these shows, as it allows them to broadcast their services to consumers.
Maui Now reports that Kama'aina Loan, a pawn shop in Wailuku Town, Hawaii, will be highlighted in the pilot episode of Pawn Stories. For this reason, the business has been asking local residents who need short term lending help to bring in their items, which could be featured on the show. Pawn Stories is the latest in the variety of reality programs that showcase these companies and how they serve their local communities. The Cohen Brothers of Chicago, who own Royal Pawn Shop, will get their chance in the spotlight, as their business will be included in an episode of Hardcore Pawn, states the Chicago Sun-Times. The popular reality show visited The Windy City and filmed at the brothers' location. Wayne and Randy Cohen are excited to see the footage and are anxiously awaiting the debut of their episode.
