Jack Nicholson impersonator awaiting trial

A 41-year-old Brazilian man was allegedly parading around the world under the guise of being 74-year-old actor Jack Nicholson, CNN reports. Using an Entertainment Weekly photo of the famous actor taken by celebrity photographer Martin Schoeller nine years ago, Ricardo Sergio Freire de Barros used the ID to open bank accounts and credit cards with high limits in Nicholson's name, and then defaulted on debts, notes the Celebrity Cafe. Police had been monitoring Barros' activity for months after word began to spread among financial institutions in the Brazilian city of Recife that he was spending money he didn't have. When Barros was caught, police found six different fake IDs as well as various checkbooks and credit cards in his possession, CNN adds. Nicholson, famous for roles in movies such as "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" and "As Good As It Gets," could not be reached for comment. Barros was charged with use of false documents and falsification of a public document and is currently in jail awaiting trial.
