"Grey's Anatomy" star disputes fraudulent tax charges
Sandra Oh, the actress who plays Dr. Cristina Yang on the ABC's drama Grey's Anatomy, is attempting to deal with identity theft issues stemming from a job she allegedly held in 2009, WNYW-TV reports.
Oh was contacted by the IRS last week and was charged with not paying taxes for a job she held at a hotel two years ago. Oh denied the claims, stating that she never worked at a hotel during the alleged timeframe, as she's been a regular on Grey's since 2005. TMZ reported that Oh went to a Los Angeles police station on Friday to dispute the issue. A day later, police launched an investigation to uncover who had been fraudulently using Oh's personal information. WNYW-TV adds that police don't believe the unknown perpetrator attempted to use Oh's information maliciously to pose as her or steal her identity, but rather in an attempt to land a job. Oh has yet to comment on the matter.
