FBI seeks fugitive wanted for identity theft and credit card fraud
The FBI is searching for 28-year-old Luis Colon, Jr., who is being charged with identity theft and credit card fraud, ABC 7 News reports.
Colon has black hair, is six feet tall, approximately 180 pounds and has tattoos on his whole body - most noticeably on his neck, which is decorated with stars. Authorities inform the public he may be armed and dangerous. Between 2009 and 2010, authorities allege that Colon obtained personal information from victims, used it to open credit lines and purchase large quantities of pesticides via the internet, the news source explains. Then, Colon allegedly shipped the pesticides to New Jersey and Pennsylvania properties to be sold at a store in Philadelphia. Colon was able to gain the personal information of victims by calling individuals over the phone and making them believe they could save money on utility bills through an automatic debit account. He requested details, such as names, birth dates and Social Security numbers, in exchange for the supposed service. Colon faces charges of credit card fraud, aggravated identity theft and conspiracy to commit credit card fraud.
