Electronic bill payments provide easy option for consumers
The internet provides a wealth of resources and tools for users. With the emergence of recent technologies through the internet, businesses and organizations are now able to accept electronic payments from consumers who owe outstanding amounts. This can be especially beneficial for short term lenders, as many of these companies are now offering individuals loans from out of state.
According to the Chillicothe Gazette, the city of Chillicothe, Ohio, is now allowing its residents to pay their utility bills through electronic payment terminals online. While the cost of the system being implemented will set the city back initially, the online bill payment solution will more than account for its expenses over time. Chillicothe officials say the option of electronic utility payments is being leveraged to better accommodate consumers and allow them to pay their outstanding amounts more efficiently, reports the newspaper. This adoption is part of a national trend highlighted in recent research by IDC Financial Insights, writes eWeek. Of the consumers surveyed, more than half said they have used a form of electronic payments, and approximately 73 percent stated they currently use online bill payments, making electronic methods for paying bills a dominant trend throughout the country, says the news source.
