KNOW YOUR FREEZE LAWS

In response to the rising tide of ID theft, 39 states have enacted Freeze Laws allowing consumers to prevent CRA's from releasing their credit information. While this protects the consumer, it also adds complexity to business cycles where credit information comes into play.

37 states have some form of active Freeze Law legislation. Thirteen have passed new laws this year and twenty amendments are still pending. To keep on top of the laws in the states you do business in, contact your legal counsel.

MicroBilt has prepared an interactive map detailing specifics of each state's Freeze Laws. Simply roll over each state to view details.
